About this Picture

The parking space in the photograph has clearly been unused for a long time. Moss has taken over the ground, suggesting that cars stopped coming here years ago. Nature has slowly reclaimed the area without resistance.

Despite that, the workers responsible for maintaining the neighborhood came through and repainted the parking line. It looks freshly applied, bright and clean against the overgrown surface. The result is a strange mix of practicality and oversight: a system performing its routine even where it no longer serves a purpose.
